AOL Confirms Socialthing Takeover
August 28th 2008 06:51
AOL has announced that it will soon acquire the social feed site, Socialthing. The Internet start-up controls a similar niche to FriendFeed and disseminates information from sites like Twitter, Digg, Flickr and Facebook.
It was started by TechStars out of Boulder Colorado and launched in March at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival. Such has been the rapid rise of the service, that AOL has reportedly been after Socialthing for a few weeks now.
Financial details are yet to be released but for the programming alone the benefits will far outweigh any initial cost to AOL.
