An American Fact Food chain is stepping up the use of mobile technology in commercial transactions. Arby’s restaurants are now issuing mobile coupons to customers.
“Mobile phones are helping quick service restaurants reach people on-the-go and the coupons are great incentives to get people in-store,” says an Arby’s spokesman. “The redemption rates for coupons tend to be high.”
Consumers are required to register online with Cellfire- the service’s provider. But few seem unwilling given the high redemption rates of the coupons.
The coupon uses a mobile web browser. New offers are constantly updated through the site and consumers are alerted through either a text message or an alert from the mobile site.
Other companies are beginning to take advantage of the service as well…Valvoline has released a plan to expand its Instant Oil Change centres from their Cleveland base to become worldwide within the next year.
"Our technology’s advantage is the fact that it is an interactive service,” said Mr Moore. “Brands can send out their deals in a graphic manner and we are able to control the redemption for them and provide unique shopper insight.”
