MTV.Com Marketing Morning After Pill
January 11th 2009 13:39
If you went to MTV.com in the past week or so, you might have noticed banner ads for Plan B., otherwise known as the morning-after pill which has been shown to prevent pregnancy if taken up to 72-hours after unprotected sex. And naturally, this has some parents concerned about what MTV is telling their children.
"It adds to my concern that the owner of Plan B is directly targeting younger girls in order just to sell more of their product, without concern for the health or the emotional well-being of those girls," said Wendy Wright, president of the Washington-based advocacy group Concerned Women for America.
Yes, can we please not have mention of sexual protection or birth control on MTV either? We were happy with just the rampant underage sexuality and alcohol abuse shown on shows like The Hills, Real World, and er, all of their programming.

I live by a Pharmacy and the Plan B sells like hotcakes. Almost every time I go in there, someone is buying Plan B, and they keep the box by the cash register. Stunning, it's not really a good method, but I guess better than nothing.
